ARTWORKS

Oil Paintings, Mixed Media, watercolors, acrylic, graphite, charcoal, pastels & More

A major part of Tindell's Restoration of business relates to the wonderful opportunities to perform restoration on various media types of artwork. We find the bulk of the media type is oil paintings that need a lot of care to clean, condition, and conservation frame. We have more on canvas fabric than other types, such as mounts on board, etc.

Our goal is to not only give the painting an outstanding new life but to offer the installation of that artwork in a better conservation framing mounting.

Often we receive paintings that are framed wrong, and that can continue to create a long-term harm to the painting. We have products that offer protective separation of the frame from the painting to include Velora, conservation tapes, special spacers and hardware without harmful nails or screws, support conservation boards, etc.

We also do a lot of artwork restoration on different paper varieties ( even vellum)  and all types of unusual mixed media graphics, including etchings, lithographs, graphite, watercolor, pastels, mixed media, etc.  Often, these require a deacidification treatment and perhaps a fixative.  We also recommend conservation methods for state-of-the-art alternative hinging, mounting, conservation mats, spacers, conservation glaze (glass), museum glaze, and if a large piece, alternative optimum museum acrylic.  Most always, our complete framing will include a conservation dust cover, newly coated wire, correct fasteners for best support, bumpers, and courtesy hangers.

We have restored some very valuable and historical artworks, including renowned artists from the 17th century to the present. They include but are not limited to Renaissance, Impressionist, Traditional, Post-Modern, Contemporary, European, American, Military, Marine, Sports, Asia, Chinese, Japanese and more.  It is rewarding to have the opportunity to work so closely with so many artworks, and each becomes a special experience from the BEFORE condition to the wonderful AFTER completed restoration.

Whether it is your great-grandparent's artistic ability, a child's first art attempt, or a noted piece from Sothebys or Christies, we are ready to assist.  Please do not hesitate to contact us for a consultation to conserve and protect your treasures.
